OUTSTANDING QUERIES

• Who were William Stangers's parents?
• Who were Richard Gibson's parents?
• What took Hannah Bryan to Wigan, where Elizabeth Wilson was born in 1851? - In the light of the identification of Mary Halland as another daughter of Hannah Bryan, the question must be revised to "What took Hannah Bryan to Manchester where Mary Halland was born in 1849?"
• Who was Mary Wilson's(nee Stanger) first husband? - When Mary married Robert Wilson in 1841, she was Mary Wear - widow. Using Whitby Parish Records, I have established that she must have married between February 1825 & March 1832, as she appears as a witness to several marriages at Whitby Parish Church as Mary Stanger after February 1825, but in March 1832 she appears as a witness as Mary Wear. There are no records of any Mary Stanger marriage in Whitby Parish Church between those dates, so she must have married elsewhere.
